Overview
Isaboko designs for individuals who fearlessly express themselves and are eager to joyfully
reimagine the world around us.
As a digital illustrator and post-production assistant, I drew inspiration from Japanese silhouettes to align with Isaboko’s vision. The illustrations were designed to capture the grace and simplicity of this style, adding depth to the visuals.

Challenges
One key challenge was finding a visual language that captured the brand’s bold and expressive spirit while also honoring the subtlety of Japanese silhouettes. Striking this balance required navigating the tension between simplicity and impact. In post-production, another challenge was ensuring that the illustrated elements did not overpower the photography but instead complemented it.
Solution
I developed a series of illustrations that emphasised clean, intentional lines and fluid forms, drawing from the elegance of Japanese design while aligning with Isaboko’s joyful and imaginative energy. In collaboration with Katya, the co-founder of No Kill Mag, we refined the compositions through iterative adjustments–layering, adjusting colours and fine-tuning placement until the illustrations felt seamlessly integrated. This process helped preserve the delicate aesthetic while reinforcing the overall narrative of the project.
